What is Interior ReDesign?

ReDesign is a Specialized Niche in the Interior Design & Decorating Industry.

Interior Redesign uses your existing furnishings to create a beautiful, functional and inviting home that reflects your personality and lifestyle.  As we live our daily lives, we tend to get used to our surroundings and can no longer see them with a fresh perspective. Using basic design principles, the Making It Home team will rearrange your furniture, artwork, and accessories, to create a warm and inviting space you’ll love to come home to and one you’ll be proud to invite your friends and family.   In just one day.

A Redesign can take years off of the style of your furnishings simply by rearranging them in ways you may never have considered. Whether your surroundings are shabby or chic contemporary or traditional, it's not what you have that's important - it's how it's placed that makes all the difference.

How it works:

Your Redesign begins with a one-hour consultation with you in your home. We'll discuss what is working for you and what isn't and how you would like your home to look, feel and function. With that information, we’ll decide if there is anything you need to do to prepare for the transformation before we arrive.  This may include providing storage boxes, moving any valuable items/furnishings you don’t want touched, etc.

On the day of your Redesign, while you're away, we'll carefully remove your furniture, artwork and accessories from the room to get a fresh perspective of the space. We'll layer pieces back into the room keeping in mind the focal point, architectural features, traffic patterns and your family’s needs and we’ll create your new customized look. And because we're using all of your own décor, the look will reflect you and your lifestyle.

Once the ReDesign is completed you’ll come home for the “Reveal” and we'll provide you with some suggestions (if needed) of optional finishing touches that you can do yourself the future should you wish to carry on the transformation.

Who needs a ReDesign?

ReDesign is for anyone wanting a fresh look, or who is faced with one of the following situations:

  • You don’t love what you see or “feel” when you walk into the room.
  • You inherited or purchased objects and need assistance coordinating them with your existing style.
  • You are trying to bring together styles and furnishings as a result of blending two households.
  • You recently moved, downsized or renovated and need help in settling your things into a new space.
  • The kids have moved out and you now have a room to redesign for another purpose, perhaps a tranquil reading spot, a guestroom or a home office.

Have your home ReDesigned for any Special Occasion:

  • Family Reunion
  • Anniversary Party
  • Engagement Party
  • Any time you’re hosting an event

Consider giving the gift of ReDesign:

  • Wedding Gift
  • Move In Gift
  • Anniversary/Birthday Gift

Gift Certificates available in any denomination.

Fees:

The cost of a ReDesign is quoted after the initial consultation.  The quote is based on the scope of each project.  Prices range from $300 for a half day ReDesign to $500 for a full day.  The number of rooms to be done and the size of each room will determine the quoted price.  We will work with you to determine the most cost effective way to make the most impact in your space.

You may choose to do some of the “prep” work before hand based on the suggestions we give you at the consultation.  This may include packing away some items or moving large pieces of furniture before we arrive.  This will reduce our time and your cost.  Remember, a ReDesign is less expensive than recovering a sofa and will inject a whole new life into the furnishings and the accessories you already own.
